LOEYTEA
Earl Grey
Our Earl Grey is built on high-grown black tea from the Dimbula region of Sri Lanka — known for its brisk, floral aroma and clean finish. We blend it with top-grade natural bergamot oil to create a fragrance-forward profile with vivid floral notes that linger beautifully on the palate.
The reason for this pronounced floral aroma lies in chemistry. High-grown teas like Dimbula are rich in linalool and geraniol, compounds that naturally occur in flowers and contribute to their signature scent. Interestingly, bergamot oil contains these very same compounds. When infused together, the synergy between tea and oil amplifies the floral dimension, creating a more expressive and aromatic experience.
That’s why we use only single-origin Ceylon tea in our Earl Grey — not just for traceability, but because terroir matters. The altitude, climate, and soil of Dimbula produce a tea that’s uniquely suited to this kind of pairing. No blends. No shortcuts. Just a clear, bold interpretation of a timeless classic.

WHERE FLAVOR BEGINS

DIMBULA, SRI LANKA
HIGH-GROWN. FLORAL. DISTINCT
At 1,200 meters, Dimbula’s cool air shapes slow-grown leaves.
Floral, elegant — the essence of our Earl Grey.
SINGLE ORIGIN
We source from single estates where terroir speaks clearly.
Each tea reflects its origin — pure & intentional.

Where Taste Begins
Every day, seasoned tea masters refine the balance—
ensuring each blend remains true to its origin.

Crafted by Many
From garden to table, countless hands shape
what quietly arrives in yours.
Built on Trust,
Shaped by Terroir
We don’t just buy tea — we build relationships.
From the beginning, we’ve chosen to work with producers we trust. Rather than chasing novelty, we focus on partners who share our values: consistency, sustainability, and a long-term vision for quality.
Our teas are selected not from catalogues, but from ongoing conversations — from what growers themselves believe in. We look for leaves that may take time to be appreciated, but have lasting depth and truth. That’s how we arrived at our signature origins — places like Dimbula, where the land and people shape every harvest.
Single origin means more than a name. It’s about listening to the field, respecting the grower, and letting the tea speak for itself.
Terroir delivers a vivid floral rise
HOW TO BREW
💧
Water
200ml
of water for each cup.
🌡️
Temperature
90–95°C (195–203°F)
just below boiling.
⏱️
Time
3–4 minutes,
then remove the leaves
to avoid over-extraction.
HOW
BLACK TEA BREWS
A delicate balance of time, temperature, and tannins.
The taste of black tea deepens with each second — knowing when to stop is the key.

What Happens After 3 Minutes
Tannins are natural compounds in tea leaves — they give structure, body, and astringency.
After around 3–4 minutes, their presence spikes rapidly, leading to a noticeably stronger, more bitter brew.
Why We Remove the Leaves
Leaving the leaves too long extracts excess tannins, overpowering the tea’s subtler aromas.
Removing them at the right moment keeps the flavor balanced and clean.
No One-Size-Fits-All
Brewing is personal.
Some prefer a lighter cup, others a bold taste.
In gardens and by experts, steeping varies depending on leaf size, cultivar, altitude — and purpose.
We started with nothing.
Just a quiet belief that there was room for something sincere — even among world-renowned names.
It wasn’t easy to place our tea beside globally loved brands, but people responded. They loved our samplers, our gift sets, and over time, cafés and manufacturers began choosing our Earl Grey.
Flavor is never about persuasion. It’s about being chosen.
And through the years, ours has continued to be.
Proven not by words, but by time.
