FRUIT & HERBAL
BLENDS

Our 4oz pouches are resealable packs designed for a wide range of teas — including single herbs, herbal blends, and fruit-based infusions. They offer flexibility for lighter, bulkier ingredients as well as denser, compact ones.

Herbs vary greatly in density — from small and heavy fennel seeds to fluffy peppermint leaves. This pouch size was chosen to ensure an ideal volume based on 4oz weight, making it the most practical and versatile format for this collection.

In 2022 and 2023, we launched a brand called Modialoc, focusing on fruit blends like green apple, strawberry, and lemon. The name felt right, but international trademark issues forced us to pause. Our founder, David, had spent nearly a decade working with fruits and nuts before starting this tea brand, and that experience shaped our approach. Fruit loses much of its flavor when dried, and simply adding hot water rarely brings it back. So we explored — from essential oils to encapsulated aromatics, even citric acid to enhance brightness. These efforts taught us how delicate and complex fruit flavor could be.

Later, when we began again under the name LOEY, we stepped away from additives. While flavor enhancers — especially solid-type flavors made with sugar — helped us bring out fruit notes vividly, we noticed that even trace amounts, like the small white specks they leave behind, were often perceived negatively by customers. It made us reflect on where the market is heading. Of course, eliminating natural flavors entirely isn’t realistic, but we now use them sparingly and focus on crafting deep, expressive blends through fruits and herbs alone. It’s a narrower path, but one we believe in. Before our 2025 exhibition in Las Vegas, we tested dozens of blends and selected the three that best captured this vision. Fruit blends, like cocktails, can set a mood. They’ve become another way we define who we are — and we’re just getting started.

WHAT LED US HERE

PRESENT BY LOEYTEA

What We Found Along the Way

In early 2024, we launched only the seeds of an idea. But for 2025, we knew it needed form — something more structured, more deliberate. That could have meant dozens of new recipes, or one concept repeated in many ways. After much thought, we decided to express our message by dividing the collection into three parts: signature tins, curated gift sets, and fruit blends.

For the blends, we chose to mirror the gift set lineup — to make the sampler and the pouches clearly connected. We wanted people to remember them distinctly. Not as one of many, but as the blend with berries, or apples, or strawberries. The clarity made it easier to return to, easier to share.

And they matched perfectly with our message: Blessing Neighbors. These were flavors that reminded people of home. A plate of berries on the kitchen table, strawberry ice cream in summer, a warm slice of apple pie — we chose to share those memories in tea.

WITH GRATITUDE

TO THE ONES WHO REMEMBER

TEAS
THAT FEEL LIKE HOME

Blended teas are another way we express who we are. With a background in fruit handling and the emotional pull of our customers’ memories, we began shaping blends that center around fruit — familiar, symbolic, and joyfully nostalgic. This is just the beginning. We plan to continue building a world of flavors that feel both personal and timeless.

It’s been about ten years since I began working with tea, but before that, I spent seven years handling fruits and nuts — nearly every fruit you can imagine. I visited farms, toured processing facilities, and managed nationwide distribution to major retailers. A few years ago, I tried to bring that experience into tea by creating blends like green apple, lemon, and strawberry — teas that tasted almost like cocktails. I even used encapsulated flavors, similar to those in juices, and citric acid to give them a lemonade-like tang. Some customers really enjoyed them, but others weren’t comfortable with the added ingredients or the format. So with LOEYTEA, I decided to start fresh — from the beginning, and in a different way.

I wanted to explore blends that were fuller, more joyful, and more playful. Instead of mimicking cocktails, I focused on using gentle natural flavors — not to overwhelm, but to restore the delicate aromas lost during drying. Then I turned to memories. A plate full of berries on the kitchen table. The strawberry ice cream we shared with friends on slow summer walks. The unmistakable warmth of apple pie. Alongside our black teas, I hoped these fruit blends could become part of someone’s afternoon — shared with dessert, or enjoyed as a small reward. We began with three that felt the most symbolic, and we’re already working on what’s next. I just hope they become a cheerful, familiar part of everyday life.
