The Art of Brewing: A Comprehensive Tea Brewing Guide

Brewing the perfect cup of tea is an art that combines precision, patience, and a genuine appreciation for the leaf. Whether you’re a seasoned tea enthusiast or just starting your tea journey, this comprehensive guide will walk you through the essential steps to brew the perfect cup every time.

  1. Choose Quality Tea:
The foundation of a great cup of tea lies in the quality of the leaves. Opt for loose-leaf teas or high-quality tea bags for a more authentic and nuanced flavor profile. Explore different varieties such as green, black, white, oolong, and herbal teas to discover your preferences.
  2. Measure the Tea:
The right tea-to-water ratio is crucial for a balanced and flavorful brew. As a general rule of thumb, use one teaspoon of loose tea leaves per 8 ounces of water. Adjust the amount based on your taste preferences and the type of tea you’re brewing.
  3. Choose the Right Water:
The water you use can significantly impact the taste of your tea. Use fresh, filtered water for the best results. Avoid using water that has been sitting for too long or has a strong taste of minerals, as it can alter the delicate flavors of the tea.
  4. Water Temperature Matters:
Different types of tea require specific water temperatures for optimal brewing. Here’s a quick guide:
  • Green Tea: 175-185°F (80-85°C)
  • Black Tea: 200-212°F (93-100°C)
  • Oolong Tea: 185-205°F (85-96°C)
  • White Tea: 160-185°F (71-85°C)
  • Herbal Tea: 212°F (100°C)
  1. Preheat Your Teaware:
Warm your teapot, teacup, or teapot with a splash of hot water before adding the tea leaves. This ensures a more even brewing temperature and enhances the overall flavor extraction.
  2. Brewing Time:
The steeping time varies depending on the type of tea:
  • Green Tea: 2-3 minutes
  • Black Tea: 3-4 minutes (Remove tea leaves or teabag after 3-4 minutes to avoid excessive tannin extraction, which can lead to a bitter taste)
  • Oolong Tea: 4-7 minutes
  • White Tea: 4-5 minutes
  • Herbal Tea: 5-7 minutes Experiment with different steeping times to find the perfect balance between strength and flavor.
  1. Strain or Remove Tea Leaves:
Once the brewing time is complete, strain the tea leaves or remove the tea bag to prevent over-steeping, which can result in a bitter taste.
  2. Savor the Moment:
Pour yourself a cup, take a moment to appreciate the aroma, and savor the flavors. Whether you enjoy it plain or with a touch of honey, lemon, or milk, make it a ritual that brings joy and relaxation to your day.

Conclusion:

Art in Life

Discover ‘Art in Life’ on Our Products

At the start of our journey, we were making teabags in pouches. One day, we decided to add a little extra as a token of appreciation. Our first souvenir was a pencil, but as we noticed young people decorating their walls with art, we wanted to give them something special for free—a beautiful postcard with paintings on it.

A Gift of Artistry: The Gallery Concept Tea Sampler

The warm reception of our postcards motivated us to introduce the Gallery Concept Tea Sampler—a remarkable gift set. We recognized that many tea products were priced beyond the reach of young consumers, and so we set out to change that. Our gift sets feature thick, premium paper with exquisite teas sourced from trusted suppliers with a long history of serving major brands. Then we wanted to make it an affordable price, $10 each.

Spreading Joy: Art in Life Philosophy

Over the years, our product range has expanded, offering different versions of our tea samplers. People continue to enjoy them, proudly gifting them to friends as a symbol of sophistication and premium quality. This journey has not only brought happiness to our customers but has also enriched our own lives. Guided by the spirit of Victoria, we are dedicated to infusing art into the lives of our consumers. ‘Art in Life’ isn’t merely about creating products; it embodies our passion for excellence. We eagerly release new product groups with fresh concepts each year, and we are immensely grateful to everyone who has supported us in this artistic endeavor, enabling us to continue sharing the joy of ‘Art in Life.’

Regarding Values:

During the time of the East India Company, venturing to distant lands to cultivate land and bring back tea was a massive industry.

In the modern world, logistics can move through sea and air to any destination. All information is readily available, and the hierarchical system with excessively high added value is collapsing.

Key sources like India, Sri Lanka, Africa, Europe, and China allow us to obtain raw materials at any time.

Companies that have supplied major brands in Europe or emerging brands for many years have accumulated expertise in raw materials and production facilities. All companies have similar levels of quality and raw materials.

In the case of expressing taste through blending, such suppliers can create it limitlessly. However, there are limitations to instilling fantasy in such an industrial system.

What matters in today’s era is how to convey values and philosophy. It is about bringing products from the original source and designing them on behalf of consumers. It is about becoming an intermediary, playing a certain role.

Now is the age of consumer empathy towards the services provided, design, and the philosophy pursued. Roytea aspires to become an icon that brings happiness and joy into customers’ lives, partnering with major sources worldwide.

Crafting Gifts

We absolutely love putting together thoughtful presents. Gifts, to us, embody those truly happy moments in life.

There’s something special about the genuine sentiments that go into their creation. With that heartfelt intention, we roll up our sleeves and put together something beautiful – moments of joy exchanged between people.

If we can whip up casually chic items without breaking the bank, they end up choosing our products for those special moments.

Picture the moment when they confidently pick out our product and hand it to someone dear to them. For those of us in this line of work, that brings immense satisfaction.

…Well, we try not to bump up the prices too much.

We meticulously design packages, incorporating high-quality materials sourced from partners all around the world. Our goal? Creating those blissful moments in people’s lives.

It’s the sheer happiness we get from this process that propels us to keep making fantastic gifts. Here’s to hoping the name LOEY becomes synonymous with a delightfully happy present.

Our Origin

Love&Obey Tea was born out of a pivotal moment in David’s life, a time marked by personal loss, challenges, and financial hardship following the passing of his father. Faced with the disbandment of his family and enduring a difficult life abroad, David returned to his hometown with little to his name, feeling abandoned by those around him.

Just before leaving, he visited a local church on the last night of the year, where he encountered a passage from Deuteronomy 11:11 that deeply resonated with him: ‘But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven.’ These words brought him comfort and strength, offering the sense that his struggles were seen and that he was not alone.

David’s return to his hometown marked a turning point. He secured a position in a reputable company and worked diligently for seven years, gaining valuable experience through rigorous challenges. Eventually, he left the corporate world to pursue his own venture—founding a business importing and manufacturing tea. What began in a small office quickly grew into a thriving company filled with products and resources.

A significant milestone was the establishment of a factory, a location that mirrored the mountains and valleys referenced in the scripture he had encountered. Initially named after the beauty of the land, David decided to rename it Love&Obey, reflecting the message of loving and obeying God. Taking the first and last letters of ‘Love’ and ‘Obey,’ the brand LOEY was born—a name that represents not only a tea brand but also David’s personal journey of faith and gratitude.
