OUR SIGNATURE
BLACK TEAS

These are the black teas that stay closest to everyday life —
familiar, comforting, and essential.
Each one became part of our collection not by chance,
but through meaningful beginnings and lasting quality.

From Sri Lanka, India, and China,
we started with people we trusted,
and teas we loved from the very first sip.

In the early days of building our identity, we tried many things. There was always a balance between what we wanted to express and what people naturally expected from us. With black tea, we brought in leaves from India and Sri Lanka — even rare, high-grade ones like silver tips. For a while, we considered offering teas by grade and origin.

But over time, we saw what really stayed with people. It wasn’t the price or the classification — it was the personality. Teas that came with a story, a bit of humor, or a design that made you smile. Those were the ones people remembered. And those were the ones we enjoyed making most. In a tea market full of tradition and structure, we realized our voice would be found through thoughtful and playful design.

As we moved toward producing finished goods, with proper labeling and registration, the way we worked had to change too. It became harder to keep a wide variety of teas in small quantities. So we focused on the blends that people actually came back for — the ones that worked well in samplers and gift sets, that kept showing up in orders over the years.

We’ve come to see how great tea and great design bring out the best in each other — it’s a synergy that lasts. The teas that survived those seasons, the ones still here in our 7oz tins, are not the result of marketing. They’re the result of quiet, steady affection — and that’s why we’re proud to share them now.

HOW IT BECAME OURS

PRESENT BY LOEYTEA

The Search for Strength

Our first Breakfast tea was made with Sri Lankan leaves. Despite adjustments in cut and steeping, the natural softness of Ceylon never gave us the depth we needed. Eventually, we turned to Assam — blending multiple Indian lots to build the bold flavor that defines our current Breakfast.

At first, we thought we might blend later, once things grew. But what we noticed at exhibitions surprised us — people consistently commented on the clarity, the floral intensity, the focus. In a market where most brands blend across continents, the distinctiveness of our single-origin approach began to stand out.

Single-origin teas carry strong identity. Their flavor reflects the land, the harvest, and the people who produced them. As we look ahead, we hope to work with regions like Kenya, and maybe one day, create continental blends. But for now, single-origin isn’t just a choice — it’s a result of how we grew, and what stayed true to us.

WITH GRATITUDE

TO OUR CUSTOMERS

TEAS
PROVEN OVER TIME

Even with our best efforts, it means nothing unless our customers choose to return.
It was through years of steady love and repeat purchases that we found true confidence.

From the very beginning, choosing the right black teas was one of the most important decisions we made. When you call yourself a tea company, the flavor of your black tea becomes part of your identity. Some people discover tea through a gift, others have enjoyed it for years with deep familiarity. To satisfy both the curious and the connoisseur, the teas you offer must come from makers with real history and tradition. They must be high in quality, but also speak for themselves — without needing too much explanation.

When we first introduced a range of experimental products, gift sets quickly became the most favored. Think about the act of giving a gift — someone carefully choosing the right quality and price to express their thoughts with sincerity. From customer reviews, we came to realize that many recipients were teachers, professors, close friends, or people receiving a heartfelt thank-you. These were thoughtful, gracious people — and often, they knew good tea. We’ve always wanted our products to make the giver shine: to be the kind of gift that looks beautiful, and then surprises with how good it tastes. That’s the moment we picture when selecting our ingredients — because those people are our valued neighbors.
